Presenting an Evidence-Based Case for a Raise in the Workplace

This 60-minute instructor-led training (ILT) targets adult learners who want to improve their communication skills, specifically speaking and listening. The course uses Merrill’s Principles of Instruction to engage learners in solving a real-world problem — developing an evidence-based argument for a raise.

This lesson suites face-to-face classrooms where educators need to be flexible, creative, and resourceful.  This lesson involves reading, writing, and speaking components at an eighth-grade level. Learners do not need prior experience with technology because assignments are completed in a workbook.

This course was redesigned to change the focus from writing to speaking and listening skills.
